Bone Mountain Bristlecone is seeking part time help with product photography, and other aspects of our e-commerce startup.

Currently we are looking for someone to help us prepare for our online sale in March / April, but this would become a long term job for the right candidate. Initially, we are looking for 3-8 hours per week, on a very flexible schedule.

The job is located in Monte Vista, Colorado,  with some possibility of doing part of the work remotely. This is a great mentor-ship and learning opportunity, particularly for someone who would like to own a business one day.

Successful candidate will be photographing individual pieces of our unique wood in our studio.  Responsibilities will also include post-processing the photographs and preparing both the photographs and the wood for sale and (in some cases) subsequent shipment.  Applicants will have a great opportunity to learn about product photography and in the inner workings of starting up and running a busy small art-related business. The right candidate could also have the opportunity to contribute to the branding, graphics, and many other aspects of our rapidly growing business.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

(however, all of these things are not totally necessary):

--DLSR photography skills. It is important that the candidate understand the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, and ISO, and know how to use a DSLR. (You will be able to use your camera or ours.)

--Lightroom, Photoshop, Digital Photo Professional (the Canon software similar to Lightroom). You must have the ability to process a large number of photographs quickly & accurately. Having strong computer skills & the ability to pick up skills quickly is more important than knowing any particular piece of software.

-- It is critical that the candidate have a "good eye"-- this is:  attention to detail, and a good sense of composition.

— Ability to work on your own and efficiently complete tasks on your own.

—Experience with selling things online is a bonus (Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, etc), but not necessary.

— Interest in learning about product photography and e-commerce.

— Familiarity & interest in woodworking is a bonus though not strictly necessary.

— Flexibility & willingness to help out wherever you are needed.

If you are interested, please send me the following things:

--A resume and/or letter that outlines your relevant experience, and interest in working on this project with us.

--Samples of photos you’ve taken. They do not need to be product photos. (You can send a link or use Dropbox if you want.)

— References from a prior job or a professor are a bonus.

— An idea of your schedule / availability over the next 2 months. There is potential for this to become a long-term internship. There is also potential to do some of the work remotely.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
