A while back, we sent a turning block to a local chapter of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) called the Diamond State Woodturners. The piece ended up in the hands of a member named Darrell Burns, who turned it into a beautiful bowl with the help of a few of his fellow woodturning friends. He was generous enough to share some photos and thoughts with me.
The following people contributed to the creation of this lovely piece:
Darrell Burns, Hal Merriman, Dan Mahoney, Carl Reynolds, James Huntsman
Darrell tells me that the piece was subsequently donated back to the Diamond State Woodturners club, where it was used as a Christmas give away. It ended up with the wife of a member of the club, who was thrilled to get the piece. I love seeing our wood in circulation and being appreciated!
