Made with Bristlecone

I've had a lot of requests to see examples of beautiful things made from our Bristlecone.  This is something I've been wanting to do for a while.  I'm going to feature things that have been made by the Christy family, as well as customer work.  To date, our customers have been very generous about sharing their work with us, and I look forward to adding to our collection over time.  If you have any work you'd like to share, please feel free to email me.

I'm looking forward to the process of sharing creative work with this unique wood that sometimes requires all of us to think outside the box!

This is a beautiful little bowl by Chris White, who generously shared this piece that he made from wood he acquired during our December sale. Chris emailed me with the following words:

The photos are of my first effort with the wood I recently purchased, the number on the piece was 14050c3SP. I was amazed at how easily it turned and took such a high polish. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for finishing? This piece is finished with Bush Oil from Woodcraft Supply but I noticed it hardly penetrated the surface at all. After the oil dried I just waxed the piece and buffed it.

Here are pictures of the raw piece of wood, and of Chris' finished bowl.  If you have any suggestions for Chris regarding your favorite finish, please feel free to leave them in the comments. We'd love to hear from you!
